Bloomingdale Road building gets upgrades, new tenants

The former White Plains headquarters of Nestle, now an office building at 120 Bloomingdale Road, is getting the final stages of a major renovation and some new tenants.

Three law firms – Cabanillas & Associates, Fentin and Goldman and Joseph R. Miano law office – have leased more than 23,600-square-feet in this 145,000-square-foot office complex that was acquired by Faros Properties of New York City and Caspi Development of Purchase in late 2012 for a reported $10.5 million.  Current tenants include Oxman Tulis Kirkpatrick Whyatt & Geiger., New York State Department of Labor, Nationwide Insurance, Byram Healthcare and Keller Williams Realty.

In July, Faros and Caspi, two real estate investment firms, began major interior and exterior renovations to the Art Deco-style property. New interior features include an elegant lobby with waiting areas and flat-screen televisions, modern conference room, gym space, a café and private terraces for tenants. Exterior renovations include wood paneling, landscaping and “green” elements that meet requirements for LEED compliance.

The real estate partners have also begun construction on the adjacent Heritage White Plains, a 42,000-square-foot, open-air, luxury shopping and restaurant center that will feature high-end retailers.

Gallin Beeler Design Studio in Tarrytown is the architect for the office building and Arrowstreet, Inc. for Heritage White Plains.

“We are expanding our firm and were seeking an accessible property that could house our offices on one floor,” said Norman Wekselman, a spokesman for Cabanillas & Associates, which moved from Renaissance Corporate Center.

Alexander Leventhal, co-founder and managing partner of Faros Properties, said: “This completely re-imagined office space was designed to attract tenants and offer them a long-term home.”
